Giorgi Lobzhanidze [Georgia]

Born in 1974, Giorgi Lobzhanidze graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Tbilisi State University with a major in Semitology. In 1996, he went to Iran to study at the Department of Religions and Mysticism, Faculty of Theology, at Tehran University. In 2005, he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic »Jesus and Mary in the Qur’an«. He has published many translations from Arabic and Persian. Lobzhanidze is the author of a number of scientific papers and researches. He is a laureate of many literary prizes, and is also a three-time SABA winner. His poems have been translated into German, Italian, Lithuanian, Arabic, and many other languages.
