Ilma Rakusa’s poetic autobiography »Mehr Meer« is a self por- trait of her own life. She describes her childhood, her many moves, and the shock of going from the Mediterranean coast to being suddenly alone in cold Switzerland. »Mehr Meer« devi- ates from linear narrative, and the memories as they are told in everyday language almost have the effect of poetry, as they fol- low the principle of omission and consolidation.
