The writer, born in 1973 in Dalmatia, is known for her epic and essayistic works that deal with contemporary European history. She focuses particularly on the post-war history of the Balkan countries. In 1983 ten-year-old Bodrožić left her Dalmatian home for Germany, where she grew up. In her new book »Mein weißer Frieden« Marica Bodrožić returns into her war-torn home country and describes it with poetic and sensitive language. Yet at the same time, she displays her hard and uncompromising side and delivers a relentless political analysis of the post-war community of the Balkan states.
