Omar Akbar  [ Germany ]

Omar Akbar, born in 1948 in Kabul, has lived in Germany since 1960. He studied architecture and urbanism at the Technical University in Berlin. After obtaining his doctorate, he worked for different organizations in Baghdad, Banjul, Sana’a, Cairo and Aswan. In 1993 and again in 2009 he was professor of urban design and architectural theory at the Technical University for Applied Sciences in Dessau. From 1998 to 2008 he was the executive director of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation.
